Disciplines of Life
TESTIMONY OF GOD'S FAITHFULNESS
By Moni Guyer

SUMMARY: $5,500 in Answer to Prayer - I am involved with a special group of ladies for weekly Bible Study. We come together in my home to encourage and strengthen each other with God's Word and fellowship. As daughters of the King of kings, each of us desires the Lord's faithful touch. Because we sometimes think that this life should be an easy walk with no problems, enjoy this wonderful testimony of the Lord's marvelous and miraculous provision. Even though life has its challenges, the Lord God Almighty is faithful beyond compare!

Sometimes we get discouraged. Life in general seems tough. We are tempted to believe that this life should be easy, without warfare or struggles. However, I want to let you know that such is not true. Quite the contrary, the Word of God says that we struggle consistently against Satan, our enemy (Eph 6:12). He is out to steal our joy and peace, kill us, and destroy our children and families (Joh 10:10). If we are not aggressively seeking God, we will gradually slide into a lackadaisical neutrality of ho-hum. God wants you to know who He is! He is your Hope (Ps 25:5), your Strength (Ex 15:2), your Healer (Ex 15:26), your Deliverer (2 Sa 22:2), your Shelter (Ps 5:11), etc. He will not fail you!

No matter what you face in life, I want you to know that you can be victorious (1 Co 15:57) even when the odds are against you. Do not fear or be afraid. Stand fast in God (Ga 5:1)! He is our Anchor (Heb 6:19) in the storms of life. We can trust Him!

Here is one testimony I would like to share with you. God is not on our timetable. One sister persisted through 4 months of consistent prayer. Days often looked dreary. Granted we all have times when things look difficult and almost impossible. Nevertheless, God is faithful!

On April 6th my family was in a bad car accident on a very icy evening involving 5 other cars. Due to the road conditions and nature of the accident it was determined to be a “No Fault" accident. For us this meant that our Health insurance would have to cover the injuries of 4 people, 2 of which were hurt pretty badly. We have decent health insurance but the co-pays would almost destroy us. Within one month we would be in a major financial crisis because of all of the necessary medical care.

When the Bible Study started, 6-7 weeks since the accident, I found myself needing to hold on to every word in the study. I needed to believe God for healing for my daughters, food for my family, money for my mortgage, and provision to continue to care for all the medical bills, past and present.

Week after week I would hold out hope that I would learn something that I could apply that would bring the things I needed from God to pass.

For one study we did a lesson on God bringing things full circle. For some reason that lesson really ministered to me, and prior to coming that night as I was going through my bills and mail. I felt I heard the Lord say, "If you take these with you I will do something". So I brought my stack of bills to the Bible Study, I left them in the car. Nonetheless, I did bring them as the Lord requested. I handed my prayer card to my prayer partner for that night, after simply writing "PEACE" in my home and in my finances. My prayer partner prayed for me in a most unusual manner and addressed the very need.

During the lesson, my mind was everywhere, which is not uncommon for me, but the Lord brought the name of a woman I know as an acquaintance to my mind. Therefore, I wrote her name down so I would remember to call her the next day.

The next day I called to check on this woman, and found out that she needed to be encouraged. So, I figured I knew why God had placed her on my heart; or, so I thought. I let her know my desire for her to be praying for my family. Because of her knowledge about mortgages, I asked her some financial questions. I remember thinking, this could be a blessing. Maybe I will have my husband talk to her later about our situation regarding indebtedness and possible loss of our house due to overdue payments. Because I was at work I could not talk long. She agreed to call me when I got home.

When she did talk later, the first thing she said to me was, I have something I want to do for your family and I need to be obedient. You need to allow me to be obedient! With many other words exchanged, in a nutshell, she said that God had spoken to her about paying our mortgage and that she was to give us $5000.00. This would allow us to update our mortgage payment, take care of other bills, and feed my family that week. I honestly didn't know what we were going to do. Along with this blessing, another woman I have had a relationship with on and off through the years, said that God spoke to her that she was to buy my family $500.00 worth of groceries.
